HOLLY JOLLY WEDNESDAYS - Snowy Mason Jars & Jade's Triple Hot Chocolate Orange

It's Christmas Eve! This weeks Holly Jolly Wednesday is a family friendly one (with the option of added alcohol for the adults).
SNOWY MASON JARS
A lovely festive addition to our Christmas table, get the kids involved too!
YOU WILL NEED
Mason Jar or any spare jars you may have
A baking tray
PVA glue / white craft glue
Paintbrush
Epsom salts
String / ribbon
Tea lights
(OPTIONAL water based essential oil of your choice)
METHOD
make sure your jars are clean and dry
in a baking tray, evenly pour out the epsom salts
OPTIONAL - add a couple of drops of water based essential oils to the salts at this stage
coat the outside of your jar with PVA/craft glue using a paintbrush
while the glue is still tacky, roll the jar in the salts to ensure an even coverage
add ribbon or string around the neck of the jar or decorate however you like
place real or artificial tea light inside and enjoy!
JADE'S TRIPLE HOT CHOCOLATE ORANGE
YOU WILL NEED
Icing sugar
Water
Orange essence
Chocolate orange - I used dark chocolate segments
White chocolate
Hot chocolate powder
Milk
Squirty cream
(OPTIONAL alcoholic addition - Irish cream is a great option)
Chocolate garnish of your desire - I used chocolate orange thins
Microwave and microwaveable jug OR hob and pan
Mug or glass
Wide bowl
Spoon
Grater
METHOD
Mix together icing sugar, water and add a couple of drops of orange essence
drip the rim of the glass/mug in the icing sugar mix
grate 2-3 chocolate orange segments and 3-4 squares of white chocolate
add grated chocolate to mug/glass along with 2-3 heaped teaspoons of hot chocolate powder
heat milk - it needs to be hot to ensure the chocolate melts
pour hot milk into mug/glass whilst stirring at the same time
OPTIONAL this is where you can add the alcohol of your choice
top with squirt cream, garnish and serve!
